PHILIPPINE COINS CIRCA 80s - the fashionable and the make-overs

The 80s were marked by eccentricity and experimentation.  I think the coins in the Philippines had it share of what we call some 'big hair' moments in the 80s.
There was the 'chicklet' 1 centavo coin, the flower 5 centavo coin, the 2 peso bill gets a make-over!

the fashionable chicklet and flower coins (utmost right) - 1 centavo and 5 centavos, respectively.
The 1 Peso, 24 and 10 centavo designs, in my opinion were one of the most simple yet cool designs ever issued by the Central Bank

The 2 Peso bill gets a make-over!  First time that the decagon coin was introduced to the market.

THE CHICLET COIN of Philippine currency - 1 Centavo

These Philippine 1 centavo coins were square-shaped with rounded edges, so lightweight, and made a clickety sound.  Growing up in the mid-70s to the 80s, I thought these were part of my toys.  Until I found its distant cousin. (see picture below)

CURRENT PHILIPPINE COINS CURRENCY

Might as well photo blog this now before they go out of circulation; or before they turn to paper bills (again, as in the case of ten and five peso coins).  Say "currency" with a smile!
